Highway 63 between McDonalds and Dairy Queen in Thayer was blocked for a couple of hours Monday afternoon when a semi and trailer caught fire. The semi was just off the southbound lane and the highway was completely blocked because of the fire just after 3 p.m. The fire department quickly arrived and the fire was contained The trailer was a complete loss and the semi suffered some fire damage. We have no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The truck was hauling beet juice.
